GE Spacemaker 1800 microwave JVM1850SH06
« on: March 07, 2012, 07:14:02 PM »

I went to look at an over the range microwave today and could not get it off the wall. The homeowner had the installation manual and it showed the wire release to release it from the wall plate. However, it was not there. I could not locate any other way to release it and I could not find anything on the parts break down. Any ideas?

If there's a release lever, it should be behind the left grease filter.  Some microwaves are attached to the upper cabinet with three screws.  I've seen where cabinet installers have covered up the third screw when hiding the vent.

I don't think this unit has a release. Should just be two screws in the top. That said I have really ran into some interesting mounts in the last month.
