Amana Refrigerator ABB2522feq
« on: March 18, 2012, 06:34:35 PM »

This is a bottom freezer model with the digital board in the control panel. I have installed the board twice in the last three years. The board is bad again and for the same reason. It won't go into defrost. You can go into the service mode forced defrost but there is no power to the heater.
The owners want to keep it but they want to know why this keeps happening. Any ideas?

Do they have somewhat of a "clean power" service ?
OR do they live out in the middle of nowhere or on a farm, where the power may go high or low and spikes from lighning, etc ?
After leaving this Earth, "Do you want the smoking or non-smoking section?"

Newer house. Newer subdivision. No other electrical problems that could be recalled. I have replaced these boards before. I carry one on the truck
because they fit several Maytag models. Never done one twice let alone 3 times. And why is it just defrost on this refer. Heater problem?
