Sounds good, but even if you do get them figured out feel free to share with us what you found as your post may help someone else that runs into the same problem some day.

So I just want to be clear So I can button this thing up tomorrow. The copper wire you are suggesting that I hang 6" into The drain tube. Does this get wrapped around The glass tube or a different location.??????

Don't hang a wire from a glass tube heater.  Leave the existing wire just as it was.

Guys the curved end of the existing 'drain heater" wire goes over the heater.
The straight end of the "drain heater" wire goes in the drain.
You will see some attached to the e-coil then go in front of the heater then in to the drain hole.
Too little heat transfer with this method.
Before they started putting the drain heater in these units I made copper wire heater assist and attached to the GLASS heater.
After they supplied the wire I discarded it (TOO SHORT) and replaced with a longer wire.
I have done hundreds and never had a heater failure due to the wire attached to the heater.
I used to use the aluminum ground wire supplied with Maytag washers until they quit supplying it.
If you can get 10 or 12 gauge aluminum wire,it works best for wrapping on glass.
Take a Kid fishing.

You probably have a bad defrost heater on most of them ice boxes. On the stove the eyes probe which illuminates the light is stuck. You change the eye if it is a smooth top. On regular electric stoves the switch is most likely the culprit. If that was the case you remove the wire front switch to indication light and if it goes out you replace that switch. Why not get a hold of somebody to go through these appliances? If you watch what they do then you can take notes. Of course everybody don't like you looking over their shoulder.
The switch was the issue with the stove Thanks.
