LGR6620PQ0 Whirlpool gas dryer runs, but does not heat
« on: December 16, 2011, 03:10:05 PM »

I have never had a problem with it before now.
It still runs but does not heat, what should I check first?

I agree with bigbuck.

Common dryer problem, thermal fuse part # AP3132867

If you find the fuse was bad you should also check the dryer vent and blower housing for lint build up.

See that little square plastic thing at the lower left of the front panel.  Take that off, turn on the dryer, peek through the hole and tell us what you see.

ok just looked but can't see much. What should I be looking for through the hole?

If it is working properly, you will see an orange glow and then it will light and then you will see a blue flame.  If you are getting nothing, it is likely your thermal fuse found in the back of your dryer.  Otherwise, it may be your igniter

This is a great video to help you trouble shoot:

Nice video, thanks!
I don't see any glow in the hole.

I'm going to order both the thermal fuse part # AP3132867 and the ignitor part # AP3094138.

thanks for the help.
