I have a Maytag dishwasher that won't drain - model
DWU7400ABX.
I've completely disassembled the pump and motor unit inside the tub right down to the motor shaft. There were no blockages.
I replaced the wash impeller assembly and the drain impeller (the wash impeller had a chip broken off). It made no difference.
I pulled the drain hose off of the sink drain connection but there was no build-up.
The dishwasher runs normally in the wash cycle and the motor sounds like it's running normally in the drain cycle but the water remains
just below the heating element.
I looked at the Maytag Performa service manual in this website's archives. The motor & pump assemblies on the two machines are virtually identical with the exception of the "green check ball" that is referenced in the service manual. There is no check ball in my machine. No mention of it in the parts list either.
The service manual provides current draw information for the heating element but there isn't a single word about normal current draw for the motor.
Can anyone tell me what the normal current draw should be so that I can determine if the motor needs to be replaced?
Other than that, are there any suggestions that I haven't already thought of because I can't see why this machine isn't draining?
Thanks
