, this dryer would not start when the button was pressed and after removing the top and looking at the amount of lint buildup inside this dryer, it was apparent that the venting has also been restricted for some time. I verified power at the terminal block (always start there on a dryer) and into the control board. Then following the wiring diagram, I came to the thermal limiter which is designed to cut the power to the motor in the event of a prolonged overheat condition. Well with the restricted venting, this unit has been running hot for some time and sure enough, the TOD (thermal overload device) was open. Replaced it with a new thermal fuse and the dryer now operates fine. Oh, and I also instructed the customer on the proper running of their vent to prevent it from being crushed again.
