Maytag Dryer MDG6400tbo Bravio Howl noise
«

Hi ,
My daughter has this dryer.
Has a howl noise almost like a jet taking off.
I have checked all the rollers and the ilder pully, and they all look good.
Looked at the blower fan, didnt notice any thing wrong.however I didnt remove it.
vent is clear.
Could it be the motor?
Any other thoughts
Thanks.......

i think this is double sided pulleys on motor, try removing belt off blower wheel, then run dryer to check if stopped noise, may be something in blower housing.

There is not a belt going to the blower it is direct off motor.
Will be back there this weekend.
I will try running with the belt off the drum, that would atleast rule out the drum area.
thanks for your thoughts

may not be able to do this unless you jump out belt switch, sometimes the blower felt will get stuck around blower wheel causing noise.

On them blowers is a plastic hub that wallows out. Once they get wobbly it takes twice as much time to dry clothes and you will hear weird noises coming from it. click pic to enlarge

In that case remove the filter chute and look for obstacles such as this:

MDG6400tbo does not seem to be a good model number, could you double check it.
