kenmore f/l washer wont spin dry...
« on: October 26, 2011, 03:13:22 PM »

I've got a kenmore f/l washer not spinning clothes dry, Model # 417.44152400 I put it in diagnostic mode and got a trouble code 43 which the tech sheet said to replace the control board then. I did, and I still am getting the same no spin and same trouble code.

In the diagnostic mode it does go into high spin, after replacing the control board I tested it empty and with a small load,

please help

Replace the door latch assay.

Are you sure it was error 43 and not error 41. Put the washer into spin cycle for 1 minute then unplug the washer. If you can open the door right away then the door latch is faulty.

So I did check and re-check the code, it was a 43, but I also put it into spin for a min. and then unplugged and the door did open, but in looking at the tech sheet they said that it would do that...what does that mean?

In my experience, you have a bad door latch. The door should NOT open immediately in the spin cycle when power is removed, it's a safety lock. Are you sure you read the tech sheet right?

I'm pretty sure..."Turn the program knob 8 clicks form the start position. the drain pump and door lock solenoid will activate and the washer will operate in high spin. safety warning: if power is removed during this test the door can be opened." at least that what the T. sheet says, I did notice though, the led on the very top says door locked and the light comes on when it's supposed to, but the bottom light is next (this model has a vertical series of 5 lights) to a lock icon, that does not come on but before I changed the CB it did, so I've ordered the lock and will pray for the best.

The door opening warning is only for the diagnostic test. Try the washer in a regular cycle.

replace the door lock, door lock is bad not sending the proper signal to the control to allow it to spin

Thanks guys, replaced the door lock today and it fired right up. probably didn't need the control board, but i'm not sure there were some spots around a resistor but at least its up and running now.
