I tried 3 and went back on all of them, that's when Maytag still sold the genuine fuse. There is a reason the fuse blows is because one or both switches are bad. Which one do you change if both check OK ? By playing games with them it is a waste of time and money. It is not worth the gamble.

Doing Maytag Factory work I always changed the unit as a whole as it wasn't cost effective in trips back ,gas cost ETC. I learned to ALWAYS use Factory parts.(for liability reasons) Always take the time to diagnose properly the first time. A happy customer is a returning customer. That being said, no call backs is a lot better than wasting time and parts. Then losing a customer because they feel you aren't competent when you keep coming back for the same problem.

I had one of these a while back with a bad fuse. I bypassed it  cause I had no replacement on hand to see if it would work. I ended up tripping the circuit breaker in my house after I plugged it back in. I replaced the lid switch assembly for $35 bucks and it was fine.
