All direct drive models Customer complaint:
The washer is making a noise when it should be agitating or spinning, but it does not wash or spin the cloths. There is also water sitting in the tub.Solution to the problem:
Replace the motor coupling
The motor coupler connects the washers main motor to the gear box. There is no belt on a direct drive washing machine.
Sometimes the washer will make a lot of noise if the coupler is broken and the washer is trying to agitate or spin. Other times it does not make much noise at all and the only thing you will hear is the motor running. It all just depends on if parts of the broken motor coupler are hitting each other when the washer is running or if all the pieces of the broken motor coupler have fallen to the floor under the washer.
The washer will still be able to pump the water out. A lot of the times the customer will say it's full of water and does not pump out, but it does. They just don't give the washer time to pump the water out before they shut the washer off because of the funny noise it is making.
The washer will drain the water out even if the motor coupler is broken.
This is a very simple and cheap repair if you do it yourself.
