MAH21 shows D5 Error
« on: September 01, 2009, 03:36:06 PM »

Hi,

I have to repair a Maytag MAH21PNAGW wich not works with coins... But it shows the D5 Error Code, wichs means:
"Blocked coin 1 or coin drop control circuit failure"

I have connected a new board control, and the problem is still there...  :-\
Anyone can help me?

Thanks

There is a coin drop sensor inside the mechanism which will lock out the  control if it has failed. For more info on this machine see the following manual:

Hi repair-man,

There is not mechanism, the washer doesn´t use coins to operate. It works at home (no coins mechanism is needed). The washer has been working fine for 5 years, but now there is that problem.

Thanks.

Coins or not, there's only one manual for this line of machines, and now you have it to read. You'll find the solution by reading section 2-4. If the coin sensor circuit was bypassed, there may be a bad connection. With the help of the wiring diagram in the above manual, you should be able to bypass this circuit at the control.

Hi again, Repair-man

I have seen 1-9 and 1-10 sections of the manual, and I see than MAH20PN doesn´t have coin box (like mine).

In 3-11 section, I see than J code must be set to __d in PN models. In mine it is set to Cd.

I would like to know if this could be the problem, before I go to repair it.

Thanks.

Your guess is as good as mine. It certainly won't hurt to try, will it?
