GE gas range electric clock stopped working
« on: August 11, 2009, 08:19:23 PM »

GE XL44 purchased in 1998.
Gas range with electric clock

The electric clock was working fine but suddenly stopped working.

How do I determine what the basic underlying problem is and how do I fix it.

Not to confuse things but at the same time the oven burner started giving problems by not igniting as normal.

You definitely need a new clock, and also a new oven ignitor. Since this clock is for timing purposes only and has no direct involvement with the oven as on fancier models, it is apparent you'll need both parts.

The clock and  ignitor are shown below and you may click to view them.

Wow it costs more for an ignitor than the control. That's wild!
