Frigidaire Dryer - Very Noisy
« on: January 14, 2008, 06:11:08 PM »

Complaint: The customer that called about this dryer said it was making a terrible noise.

This type of Frigidaire dryer has a center drum bearing. It's not really a bearing as one might think, but more of a big metal ball on the back of the dryer drum that rotates around inside a plastic cup on the back of the dryer.

You can replace all the bearing pieces with a bearing kit. You will need to lift the top of the dryer and remove the front. Once the front of the dryer is removed you can remove the belt and drum.

Once you get the dryer apart it's a very simple and easy repair. The drum bearing kit is also not very expensive.
