whirlpool gold dishwasher
« on: February 16, 2009, 09:43:32 PM »

This dishwasher fills with water, and will drain if I press cancel, but will not   wash and makes a humming noise. Is this a motor problem, or a relay/start switch (if it has one :-\). I noticed a lot of lime coming out of the drain could that be the problem?

Without a model number I am guessing. That being said I believe you have a drain pump motor separate from your wash motor.
The wash motor needs your attention; clogs, wiring etc.

Sounds like a broken diffuser to me. If the vains are rotating and not stationary then it won't wash.
