Take a look at Supco's Data loggers, you can log down to 1 sec interval. I have a bunch of them: Temp & RH/ Vots & Amps/ Temp & Press/ Two point temp. Look for Logit (2 Ch)series or SLC 2 series (1 Ch, temp only).

The run on 9-pin serial interface if you can only run them with USB then get a serial 9 to USB adapter from Radio Shack.

Let me get this straight: You can get this contraption and hook it to yer pc? to get a reading of the hour by hour temps in a particular appliance? The black box with the repairman in mind. well Mrs Suzy I see where there was a definite change in temp on your  final spin, we noticed a slight weight increase in the load and the vibes were definitely on.Didn't I tell you absolutely no movement(or sitting on top of the machine) was advised during the test? :D

Do not underestimate the power those little gadgets have.
This tool has saved me thousand of dollars in warranty claims.
It used to be that instruments of this kind were out of the budget for most people nowadays anyone can get a logger provided that ther is a PC to connect to it.

I used one in a court case. Wacko insisted someone was "sneaking in" while she was at work unplugging her refrigerator.
Turns out she was trying to beat paying her rent.  ::)

My cousin bought a reach in cooler with a solid glass door on it for her kitchen so that the inlaws could plainly see what was and was not in the  ice box.

I really like my Supco SL300T.  I've had it for 3 years and the battery is still good.  It had a USB hookup, not serial like the older Supco's. I use it mostly to prove tenants are just trying to get a new fridge from the landlord. :) My supplier has them for $62.99 wholesale which is the best price I've seen.  If you decide to get one and can't find a better price, let me know and I'll have them drop ship one to you.

Does your SL300T look like the one in the first link or the one in the second link?

There's (3) models: all 100,000 records except 8k model = 8000 records
(recording intervals : between 1 second to 255 hours)

TEMPerA :   -40~+80  Degree Centigrade  /  -40~+176 Degree Fahrenheit  $ 35
TEMPerB: -40~+150 Degree Centigrade / -40~+302 Degree Fahrenheit w/ external $ 36
TEMPer8K:-40~+80  Degree Centigrade  /  -40~+176 Degree Fahrenheit  $ 28

they're also on eBAy

I have a few of the non-recording versions . . . about $ 7 to $ 12
