Maytag washer not draining
« on: January 31, 2009, 06:03:32 PM »

My Maytag washer is not draining before spin cycle, I checked in all the different settings and can hear the timer click but the motor does not start to run the pump.

If it will not run when you set it to spin manually, the lid switch may be bad. If it does run in the spin cycle but not at the end of the wash, the timer is the culprit. Checking the lid switch is a basic step in the Performa manual.

Unplug the harness to the lid switch and check it for some continuity.
