Kenmore electric dryer model 110.62952100
« on: April 29, 2022, 12:04:50 PM »

I was given this dryer for possible repair as it would not run according to the previous owner. I dismantled the control panel but found nothing burned or shorted. If I held the push-to-start switch and held it continously the unit would run but not heat. I then put a jumper wire temporarily  across the 2 large red wires  of I presume is a power relay and it would heat OK. The timer will not advance as it should either. Many of the parts for controls of this relic are no longer available.  Does anyone have any suggestions for repair ? I cannot find a schematic inside the panel anywhere, The s/n is ML3524072. Help !!!

As a temporary fix. I installed a simple on/off switch in place of the push to start switch. The jumper using number 10 wire was installed across the power relay as I described earlier. It runs and heats OK !

Now have a similar gas type  Kenmore with the same problem This is a Model 110.73954101 with s/n MP0204055. The unit will start and run If I hold the push to start button but as soon as I release the button  the unit stops. There is no problem evident in the control panel area or anywhere else. When this unit was given to no schematic was inside the console. The door start switch was not working and the belt was broken. Bothe of these items were replaced. Any suggestions as to what direction I should go  ? The push to start switch appears OK.

A simple on/off switch was installed  in the wing to replace the push to start switch. This device  in conjuction  with the ordinary  timer and it worked properly, l

Interesting solution to the problem. Is it still running like this or did you end up getting the original switch to put back in?

The switch was left in the circuit.

Gotcha, just wondering.
