Kitchenaid Water Filter Housing
« on: December 27, 2021, 03:38:25 PM »

I have a 17 yr old built in Kitchenaid kbrc36fms01. The water filter housing started to leak so I found the part and it is near impossible to get the old one out. I first had to cut the mounting bracket because there was no way to get a socket underneath to remove it. Then I am able to pull it partway out but one of the water lines is too short to let me pull it out far enough to remove it. I have called a half dozen repair shops and most of them have said they don't deal with it and others are either too busy or don't return calls. It would be so simple if the water line was 6 inches longer but I am at a loss. A similar replacement fridge is around $7000, the part cost me $80.
