GE Dryer, won't start
« on: December 21, 2021, 08:03:19 AM »

OK so my wife and I purchased a new set of GE laundry appliances delivered on 10/19/2021
On 11/30/2021 the dryer stopped working, GE has been trying to get a tech here for 2 weeks
factory techs don't cover my area and independents refused the call cause they are too busy.
So I looked at it myself yesterday. The unit powers up you can choose the cycle but when you
push the start button there is just a chime, and it does nothing. I got to the tech sheet, in consumer
error mode #10 fault, empty drum detection tripped, moisture sensor rods or harness. In field service mode
moisture sensor tests fine, but door latch test failed, but the door open/close test passes, I called GE
hoping to speak with a tech and they said they don't have techs available for phone service.
Frustrating

Maybe you should ask the place where you bought it to come and get it and supply a new one !!! IMO Ge does not build a very good dryer.

I just finished repairing a Maytag Neptune dryer with a minor defective  component on the circuit board that had failed. Sometimes the PCB boards are easily repaired but usually not. I sometimes wonder if the suppliers whether it is GE or Whirlpool figure it is a revenue producer for the dealer !!!
