Refrigerator staying in defrost for too long - Hotpoint
« on: October 27, 2021, 06:25:10 PM »

Hi, I have an older refrigerator, (Hotpoint #HSS25GFTA WW); that is staying in defrost mode for too long.  It is causing my frozen foods to thaw somewhat and also causing my ice cubes to melt and clump together.  I recently had my heating element replaced for the second time in a year and the repairman said the new element would fix the issue.  I kind of figured it had nothing to do with the defrost problem but I'm not a repairman!  Does anyone have an idea of what could be causing this?  Is it a part that I could replace myself?  Thanks in advance for any help offered.
