I've been having this persistent issue with a GR Truecool Fridge model GDE18ZBRALSS where there is ice buildup near the 'trough' or channel in front of the evaporator fan
where I assume the melt water is supposed to drain through. The ice builds up until it obstructs the evaporator fan from running and blowing cold air into the fridge. The problem has been
happening for the past few months now and requires me having to manually melt the ice every few weeks.
The defrost heater, timer and defrost thermostat are all working however. Prior to this week I had shut off the fridge for 10 days to let it completely thaw and dry out
and plugged it back in again the problem came back after a week.
Any help is appreciated.
