My new stove has very wide burners and the flames shoot out sideways so the flames pour up the sides of my pans, heat the handle and burn my hands.
And only the outside of the pan gets hot. Frying eggs, the ones on the outside are getting brown and the ones in the middle are still transparent.
Nearly all the stoves I see nowadays, even large expensive ones, are the same. I can't be the only one that has observed this.
I'd love to find an after-market burner replacement with jets that hit the center of a pan too. I'm tempted to get some metal stock and make new burner covers with holes that shoot flames upward or inward. Will it work?
