identify loud noise ge top load spin cycle
« on: October 14, 2020, 10:53:21 PM »

Hi,

I've seen loud spin noises could be a belt, bearing, or others. Has anyone heard this noise before and have an idea? It's a very old washer so don't want to do something big like replace the tub unless we know that's what it is.

Thank you!

I'd guess tub bearing. Pop the belt off and try spinning the tub by hand.

Totally agree these are notorious for Tub Seal leak that drys out the bearing. Look under the water do you see water spots or Rust? If so Tub Seal leaking = Bad Bearing! Let us know what you find! Check between the out tub and basket the basket hub could be rotted or cancered also.
