Electric dryer wire connection
« on: September 22, 2020, 12:36:34 AM »

I would like to run an extra long power cable from an electric dryer to the existing wall plug in my basement. The normal power cord is 6 feet long and is stranded  3 conductor  #10  copper wire. The cable length I would need is going to be about 30 feet long.  Is this going to be a problem if I use #10 stranded copper wire ?

Running 30 feet with #10 wire is no problem.  Maximum length is 160 feet for 240V/30A using #10 wire.
