Whirlpool DW Control Boards Not Being Repaired?
« on: September 11, 2020, 04:01:29 PM »

A customer's Maytag DW MDB4949SDM2 (May 2016) control board "failed". The failure was the fuse - F9. I don't know why it opened. I traced the circuits it's connected to and couldn't find any problems.
WPL doesn't know when a new one will be available and Corecentric and FixYourBoard declined to repair it.
Is it something about this generation board that they're not repairable?

I've experienced a lot of electronic control board failures on Whirlpool built dishwashers.  I see that the board you need W10737607 is currently not available but you may be able to substitute other boards though I can't say which.  Early this year I had to replace the electronic control boards on a KitchenAid and a Maytag dishwasher the same day.  I repaired the first one in the morning successfully and later in the day I was about the repair the 2nd when I realized I had put the wrong board on the first dishwasher.  It was 25 miles away so I decided to try the wrong board on the 2nd and lo, it worked!  Go figure.

Part Number W10737607 replaces  W10539779,  W10539785,  W10658349,  W10712070,  W10712071,  W10735803,  W10735805,  W10746425

Thanks for the feedback.

This particular model has the "old fashioned" chopper on the wash motor which has become a rarity these days.

For this model, fuse F8 is jumpered because of the higher amp draw of this style wash motor with chopper.

Maybe this 2016 model was a low volume seller.

Being a low volume seller might be why Corecentric and others haven't put repair procedures in place.
