My LG washer sporadically and more often than not fails to drain during wash or rinse cycles (though more often during wash cycles). My wife and I have drained countless plastic cups and bottles worth of sudsy and mostly clear water from the small drain tube in the panel near the bottom of the washer. When the washer fails to drain, it sounds an alarm and throws an OE error code.
We started by checking the small drain tube, but it was clear.
We then checked removed a considerable amount of brown sludge from the drain hose. Things seemed to get better for a while, but then we started getting the error code and alarm more frequently.
I've considered dismantling the washer to clean out the end of the drain hose that connects to the washer internally, but I've already dismantled and reassembled one LG appliance this year and I just don't think I have the patience to do it again.
When the washer successfully drains the water and does not throw the error, the water drains at what appears to be a decent speed, which led us to doubt that it's an obstruction in the drain hose.
We've also tried a master reset (unplug power, wait one minute, plug it back in, open and close the door 6 times in 12 seconds) and that didn't make any difference as far as we could tell.
I'll keep researching and troubleshooting the issue, but we're a family of four with work and extracurriculars during a pandemic and desperately need a functional and reliable washer. If we can't fix it tonight or very early tomorrow morning, we'll likely place the order for a replacement unit tomorrow mid morning.
Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas to try? Any and all help is greatly appreciated.
