General Electric Refrigerator TFX25ZPBEWW

Hello all...looking for some advice.
My fridge stopped cooling correctly, found a busted defrosted and malfunctioning defrost thermostat.  I replaced both.   I just "Reset" defrost timer and it goes into defrost mode (lasts 30min) everything melts in the freezer (it gets up to 90F in the ice maker - which is at the top).   Is there something else wrong, or will this "Reset" fix everything?

Looks like I have the wrong thermostat.  Mine was a 32 to 60f and the one I installed was a 30 to 140f (came with the defroster).
