GE WWA8829RBLWW service manual
« on: April 24, 2020, 11:18:10 PM »

I'm looking at this washer now, and the symptom is no agitation or spin. Everything else works. I believe the clutch assembly has gone south. Before I year into it, I need to get a clue on the clutch assembly and operating modes.

No help here or anywhere else, so I dug into the unit. Failure point looks to be the bronze bushing that keeps the outer and inner drum true to each other. Shaved down to a thin washer. If the clutch parts and or motor shaft extension were available, it could be fixed. Nope, nothing is available except a few parts that still look ok. To the scrap yard it will go, for a worn out clutch...

In the words of Indiana Jones that belongs in a museum. Bet it weighs a good amount too. Just looking at the gear case break down having it show its guts I know that thing is old!
