Stove WFG520S0AS0 lights intermittently
« on: April 23, 2020, 11:17:01 AM »

I have a stove that lights intermittently model number  WFG520S0AS0. Is this the gas valve, igniter, or something else? I'm fixing this for a friend. It lights one out of 5 times and they sometimes smell gas.

What ohm reading should I be getting for the gas valve and the igniter?

Thanks,

Jon

Oven gas valve should measure around 190 Ohms.  Otherwise by design this Whirlpool design allows a little gas through while trying to ignite it with a spark.  Most commonly I replace the spark ignitors, second most common is the DSI module.

See attached service manual.
