Blower wheel hub worn out
« on: March 22, 2020, 09:47:27 AM »

The above model dryer is an older unit with s/n A05476096KK. This design uses a blower wheel held on the motor shaft with a snap ring and a clamp . Quite often the blower wheel wears out at the hub and it spins freely instead of turning the blower wheel. If it is not completely worn out I have on occasion used a small steel shim about 1/8" wide and 1/4" long that is inserted into the hub at the flat  of the shaft. The snap ring and clamp are then reinstalled . his works pretty well in mos cases.

For some reason the model number did not show up on this entry. It is a Maytag  Model LDG5004AAW.
