I was given this unit for scrap price as the owner said it would not run. I found one problem in that the lid switch plastic finger was broken off. This plastic finger is attached to the lid front corner and pushes down on the switch when the lid is closed. The water valve for the hot and cold supply was badly clogged and was replaced. The belt for the drain pump was also replaced as it was almost shredded. It appears this series of repairs was the 1st repair on this unit since it was built in 1989. 31 years of use is a very good amount of time for any washer but these older Speed Queen units have an excellent record. Comments from other techs are invited.
