Hi all,

I have a Samsung French Door Refrigerator and this is the 3rd time (within 5 months) that the ice build-up came back in the back panel of the fridge (see attached picture).

I have searched all the DIY videos on how to repair this issue but in vain. I have removed the back panel and let all the ice melt and after a month, I hear the noise from the fan hitting the ice in the back panel again. The second time, I moved the sensor (thermister I think) to the upper copper thread but the ice build-up came back again.

I am so frustrated with this situation considering that the fridge is only five years old and it was an expensive one.

Did anyone encounter that kind of issue with their Samsung fridge? If yes, please share your thoughts and solution.

Thank you in advance!

I have the same issue. I'm trying to find the solution (if one exists) but theres a lot to comb through.

1. They will tell you to make sure your drain is not clogged with ice - (Mine does not, i've already addressed with the heating element extension). My ice builds up right at the very top as you have pictured and nowhere else.
2. They will tell you to check the sensor and relocate it to top where the copper lines come out of the back. ( I've already done this and replaced)
3. Also saw where it was suggested to make sure the unit is level and tipped slightly towards the back. (i've also done this and still having issues)

If someone can be so kind as to what else might be done to resolve i would appreciate it. I'll continue to search for more options.

To recap. I only have Ice up at the very top and i also can tell that there is ice now within the panel channels. The coils themselves are always clear.

What happens if you put the unit in Forced Defrost (RD) and do not reset the power? I've seen that specified everywhere, but i'm curious what the result is if you do not. It seems like the RD cycle runs for 20 minutes and then once complete the beeping stops and normal operation begins.
