LG washer MW2477hs
« on: January 27, 2020, 03:26:37 AM »

My customer has this LG washer diplaying FE code and stopped working, water still in tub.She had to unplug the washer to reboot the controls. It worked many times. When I got there,I tested the Rinse and spin,it worked ok.Also worked ok on normal cycle.I checked the water level reading. It was 235 with water,255 when empty. The drain pump was noisy but draining ok.If this washer requires rebooting too often, should I replace the main control board? This washer is 13 years old but still in good mechanical shape,no bearing or spider problem.

sorry, the model was WM2477hs,not MW.I was wondering whether a loose wire at the hall sensor would cause this FE problem.

FE means the washer is overfilling. First culprit: inlet valve(s). The harder your water is, the more likely that the valve will either clog or leak, or sometimes both.  Second culprit: pressure switch or hose to the pressure switch. Make sure the hose is plugged in at both ends and check for holes. If it's OK, then switch isn't that expensive. Maybe check it before doing the valves.
