Bosch 800 Series. Replacing whole bottom housing
« on: January 13, 2020, 10:43:14 AM »

Bosch SHVM78W53N
I had the left side spring pulley slide off it's pivot pin. This broke the bits that hold the pivot in place and also bent the plastic pivot pin that is part of the whole base housing.

From videos and manuals about replacing the pump, it appears the bottom slides off when it's rolled on it's back. Has anyone ever done this change? I was shocked the whole pan was only $50 (though it is a bit galling that a broken pivot is the reason to replace the whole thing).

Any advice on best ways to evacuate the water in the drain line before I flip it over?

Thanks,
Matt

I've never seen a bosch, but I use my shopvac on dishwashers all the time.

You can just grab the drain line from under the sink and suck the whole thing dry.
