Amana C7-AG Relay / Overload
« on: October 30, 2019, 03:11:06 PM »

I have an Amana Model# C7-AG, MFG.# P60116-32W6. The serial# is L40801532.
The amperage rating is 2.5 amps.
I know this is an old small chest freezer, but it isn't used very often, but it comes in handy when it is needed.
Unfortunately, it stopped working. The overload burnt out.
I used a test cable and the compressor runs fine. It has an amperage draw of around 2.4 amps.
The believe the relay is a Whirlpool C8704801 and the overload is a Whirlpool C8704701. Both of which are not available any longer. There isn't any capacitor in the start circuit.
I tried a Supco RO41 relay/overload and the compressor seems to run fine, however the RO41 gets very hot.
I am looking for a better relay/overload that will work and not get hot when in use.
I have attached a pic of the compressor relay/overload wiring diagram and a pic of the actual compressor pinout with the ohm readings and pin ID.
I was thinking of trying GE WR09X10106 relay/overload, but I wasn't 100% sure that it would be compatible.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
