Whirlpool door adj. Not up and down
« on: October 21, 2019, 05:14:27 PM »

I have a whirlpool WRX986SIHZ french door refrigerator. The left hand door has the little flapper that seals the gap between the doors when closed. There is a little curved guide at the top to swing the flapper in when opening the left side. The problem is that it doesn't swing it the complete 90* open and when you close the door the flapper hits on the opposing door. The left hand door seems as though it needs to be moved to the right a wee bit or the guide to the left. Has anyone come across the fix for this? I just didnt want to disassemble the whole rig and later find out it is easy some other way.

Thanks,

Walker

The cabinets are pretty flexible and the doors are rigid.

If the face isn't square (check it with a carpenter's square), nothing lines up right.

You might need to adjust the rollers/legs or put a shim under a corner.
