This washer tested ok on diagnosing, spins well when it went thru diagnosing.but when actually washing on quick cycle,at 7 minutes,it kept spinning slowly.and stayed at 7 minutes, does not spin high speed, only about 200rpm.the motor is good shape. What is causing this trouble?please help.

I am not getting any hints from this request, and yet this not a newer washer.I feel may be this is too old so not many repairmen remember how this was fixed. The parts are too expensive,so nobody is fixing it.I know one control board is $420.

I think you’ll find your Motor control board is bad - buy new for $300. Or have it rebuilt with warranty for $150.

Have you thoroughly checked the door latch?  You said it spun ok in diagnostics but didn't in a wash cycle.  The latch circuit may be bypassed in diagnostics.  You may need to replace the latch. Part #W10192995

Thank you Johnboy and blaiser, the door was locked when doing the diagnostic, but could not lock when doing the real washing.I will take your advice to buy a new lock.Hopefully that will fix the problem quickly. The tenant has been without the washer for 10 days now,he won't want to wait for rebuilding the speed control. Will try to save them some time by getting them new parts. will post the results.I really appreciate your quick replies.

The new lock did not work. I got a used main control and put it in, the washer could not go into diagnostic sequence. So I left. The owner carried on, he is fairly capable. He said he got it working with the used control. The machine likes the owner more than it likes me. LOL!
