Maytag electric dryer Model LDE7500
« on: September 10, 2019, 03:04:23 PM »

I was given the above model dryer for possible use or repair . The motor is starting to go bad as noted by squealing noise from the bearings and some sluggishness when trying to start a load of heavy wet clothes. This dryer is fairly old but in good  clean condition otherwise. I have 2 other good used motors in my spare parts box but they are the wrong rotation. Is it possible to externally rewire these motors to change the direction of rotation. The dryer uses an original  motor that turns CCW as viewed from the open end of the blower and the spare motors I have are  for CW rotation. Anyone have any thoughts on this idea ?

These motors use sealed bearings and it isnot possible to get lube into them.
