We have an LG WT5070CW Top Loader washer. About every other load the water gets stuck on during the rinse and spin cycle.  Sometimes during fill and sometimes as draining.  Could this be the water inlet valve or more likely the control board?  Thanks in advance for any help.

I have used a trick now and then on other machines such as older maytags that  you might be able to try on this machine.  It allows you to try the water valve of one side in case it is sticking as compared to the other.  Switch the hot and cold hoses and run a cycle on cold water only. That is something you can do if the machine allows cold water cycles  without hot water . Also when you disconnect the hoses at the washer take a look to see how much sediment there is on the screens. Worth a try if this washer design allows it.

Below is a service manual for this unit
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BzIiBNwRIV4NWFRIbkNidVZvZkk/view

Catch the unit when it is stuck on and unplug the unit.
If it keeps filling then odds are it is the water valve.
If the water stops then odds are that it is the water pressure switch or the control board.

Is it draining while its filling ? You see this on alot of top load washers where the water is siphon out usually because the drain hose is to far down in the drain pipe or its sealed up and cant get air to break that siphon effect

Thanks everyone.  We ordered the water inlet valve, replaced it and the problems is resolved.
It was intermittent and would do it on wash, rinse (both during fill and drain) and would continue pouring water if we cut power so we replaced the water intake valve which was the problem.  Thanks again!
