KSRG25FKSS16 Kitchen Aid ice maker problem
« on: December 06, 2008, 09:07:50 PM »

My ice maker stopped producing ice. Using information I found on this site, I bypassed the IR control on the right side of the freezer to check the operation of the ice maker itself. The motor runs/cycles but the heater does not seem to warm and I am getting no water to fill the tray. I checked the fill tube by removing it from the water valve and was able to blow air through it ...which means that it was not frozen. I also checked the valve and got an 200-400 ohm reading at the water valve so I assume it is good. Does anyone have any helpful ideas on why I am not getting any water or heater to warm the tray?

Model KSRG25FKSS16

Put some water in the ice maker and see if it will kick out some ice. If it does replace the water valve it has a mechanical probo.

Should the water valve come on if I put a jumper between the L and V holes?
