Need help with a LG LinearCompressor
« on: July 10, 2019, 05:54:21 PM »

Hey guys I need help for the LG linear compressor went out in a service call and had the normal linear compressor failure running not compressing. I ordered a compressor went back out recover the refrigerant replaced filter dryer Brazed in a the new compressor. I did flush the system with nitrogen prior to putting in the new compressor. Refilled it with my fieldpiece scale. The compressor runs for five seconds turns off three minutes later it runs for five seconds and turns off. I did go direct to the compressor with 120 V and it ran and compressed fine. But it wonít run for more than five seconds when everything is hooked up properly. Any ideas?

Itís a Kenmore LG this is the model number 79571073010

Really appreciate any help you can give me!

You might want to check the fittings you brazed when you put on the compressor and filter drier. One of the fittings might be restricted which can be causing the compressor to slow down, shut off and try again.

Is it the newest LG compressor version did it have a red sticker on the top?
If so you need to do a software update to the main board with the special black box programmer it looks like a jump drive.

New version LG Compressor part # TCA38091801 & Software Jig TCA35911910
Compressor has a purple decal and red decal on top warning about the software update.

FLS075LANA is the new compressor model number
It replaces these older LG/Kenmore Elite compressor versions:
FC75LBNA
FLA075LANA
FLB075LANA
FLB075LBNA

Is the programmer a part, or something you would need to be LG auth warranty in order to get?

Its a part you can order software tool separately as TCA35911910 or apparently sometimes it comes in the box with the new compressor.

Here is a service bulletin about how to do it.

Thanks!

PS the TCA35911910 number shows up as a "COMPRESSOR,SET ASSEMBLY" when I looked it up @ Marcone.

Is that the programmer or a whole compressor kit?

I think the part # TCA38091801 comes with the Compressor and software jig as a kit.

You can get the software jig separately as part number CJT30000002

NOTE:When servicing an LG fridge that will have the compressor replaced with their new Universal Compressor (TCA38091801), control boards manufactured prior to 2014 WILL NOT WORK with the update jig. This means that any fridge made 2013 and prior must have the control board replaced AND reprogrammed with the jig before running the compressor. Failure to do this will result in a dead compressor which must be replaced again.

Hello,
I have Kenmore Elite 795.72053.113  with  FC75LBNA Compressor and EBR73093613 PCB, manufectured 2011
Compressor is broken and i bought FLS075LANA compressor to replace old one.
I'm loooking a PCB for my new compessor.
For my new compressor to update software on it, I need PCB that is made after 2015.
I've tried to buy a new PCB from "Encompass" and "Siers", but they all manufactured before 2015.

If you know anything where i can buy that PCB please help. Thank you.

From what I heard LG has stopped selling the new universal compressor and the software jig to the general public. Only authorized LG technicians can order them. They extended the warranty for parts and labor to 5 years and compressor is still 10 years total but owner pays labor after the first 5 years from date of purchase. So I don't know if you can find the main board anymore from online part sites. Try the link on this page at the top for appliancepartspros.com maybe they can get it.
