I am considering buying the above model Whirlpool washer but have been told it needs a new timer. Checking on new parts it appears that this timer is fairly expensive. I found a location that may list this  item at a price over $250 . Is this typical ?

I decided to pass on this unit. Those timers are just too expensive.
