Just a side note here involving this situation. I have found that in Diagnostic mode many times this thermistor will test as good where in fact it is faulty. I have also found the thermistor will test sometimes at or near a normal ohm value in ice water, but at room temperature test completely out of range. the numbers I look for are approximately 7.30 ohms in ice water after a couple minutes and approximately 2.52 ohms at room temperature. obviously these numbers will vary with a couple degrees of temperature. I had recently 1 thermistor that tested at 6.80 ohms in ice water which is near normal, but tested at 0.88 ohms at room temperature. definitely always use a tie strap to secure.
