Thank you dab, this service  manual will be very useful to find out why it's not defrostig. The owner called me today again to tell me the display was gone again.I told her to re-boot the fridge again. It seemed it did re-boot.Why does  it need  re-booting so often? What can I do about it?

I got the big and expensive control board.I installed it.What happened? The interior lites are off when the doors are open, life's are on when the doors are closed. And fan and compressor did not start.I heard about the lites  worked opposite way,but not machine not running.Have you guys seen  this before?

I don't know it's my phone auto correction problem,it often change the spelling to different word.I clearly entered' lites',but it displayed "life's".I just have to watch the display carefully.

I returned the first new control board, got another new board, hoping the new board would work properly. No, it's the same. The lites are on when the French door(s)are closed, fan not going. When the French doors are open, the fan is on.The bottom drawer lite switch works correctly.I thought I could fool the computer by moving the reed(magnetic) switches away from the magnets to tell the board the doors are open, thus making the fan work. This will appear that the door is never opened, and the lites will never come on.So that is not an ideal fix.So I will return the newer board. Why doesn't LG fix the board?I read in another post that the technician reversed the switching to suit the mistake.I don't know how he did it.Since this is a magnetic swith with only two wires.Any thought about how to deal with this problem? The old board sometimes shuts down the fridge two times a day,and does not defrost automatically, probably due to miscounting the time elapsed.

So I returned the second control board.Since I cannot find a good board, and the problem is still there. The owner will buy a new fridge, hoping I can get a good board to fix the old one.
