Whirlpool Washer Agitates and Drains but Wonít Spin
« on: April 05, 2019, 11:42:43 PM »

Hello,

I have a Whirlpool top load washing machine, model SAWS800JQ2. It will run through most of the cycle, including agitating and draining. However, it will not spin. It seems to try to spin, but only advances slightly and makes a loud reving sound like a car trying to start.

I have replaced the clutch and the drive block, and still the same issue. I pulled the coupler, but it looked fine. Iím going to try to replace it in the morning, since Iím out of ideas.

Any guidance you have would be appreciated.

Here is a video of what it is doing.

Thank you!

that's pretty good washer as long as the rest of the unit is good not rusted out up around the lid and all it may be worth fixing. That design was discontinued I think in 2011. also that transmission can be switched out without disturbing the tub seal which is also a plus
