Oven temp gauge that records highest temp

Fellow techs I'm looking for some kind of high temp heat gauge that'll record the highest temp reached.  Customer thinks self clean isn't reaching 850f.  I dont want to stand around for an hour or leave my digital MM there and leave. My DMM goes to 1400f but I can't leave there and leave. It wouldn't record the highest temp reached anyway.  Any recommendation as to a gauge I can leave in the oven that'll record the highest temp reached???

you might try - https://www.pce-instruments.com/us/measuring-instruments/test-meters/contact-thermometer-pce-instruments-contact-thermometer-pce-t390-det_2131337.htm?_list=kat&_listpos=5     it cost over $200 but records temps and stores that info.  we use one for testing kilns for pottery makers.
