Maytag electric dryer Model LDE7500ACL
« on: January 24, 2019, 03:07:00 PM »

I have the above model Maytag electric dryer I just received as a non working unit. In the lower motor section there is a baffle plate  in the lower section in front of the blower  that is shown on the parts illustration but no part number . It is missing and I would like to replace it but cannot find a part number. It is a light weight plate and is bent at an angle and held in place with 2 sheet metal screws. Can someone help me find a p/n for this item ? Is it really necessary for proper safe operation  ?

Just curious as to the necessity for this item . I actually made one  from sheet metaland put it in place OK but wondered how important it is to be installed ?

In case the front glides wear out and the customer continues to run it. Causing it to go to bare metal, the metal shavings would drop on the thermostats causing an electrical short. Only seen it happen once.
