GE GUD27ESSJOWW Top Loading Speed Sensor Replacement
« on: October 11, 2018, 02:40:46 PM »

Problem with our GE GUD27ESSJOWW washer, with a pair of underwear that fell down in between the washer barrel and the space between the front door, that then got sucked into the spinning gadget, caused the washer to stop agitating/spinning, and we discovered a mess of the speed sensor and bracket. We have the bracket and the sensor and have looked at all diagrams referred to in the troubleshooting posts to figure out where it goes, but cannot see the clear/white colored bracket anywhere in any of the diagram photos. Any chance anyone can provide any help? Please :) We reviewed all manuals at appliancejunk drive and elsewhere, but do not see the bracket anywhere :/

Hi, I am also having the same problem. Do not know where or how to mount the speed sensor bracket.
Were you able to install it?? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Please.

Thanks!

Hi :) we figured out the sensor sits with the green side facing upwards as it sits in the bracket. The clear looking bracket mounts on the back side/underside of the motor, it clamps onto the motor (on the back side). hope that makes sense. The green side faces the spinning black impeller. Make sure you reset your machine with the opening and closing of the lid 6 times before you try to run it again. Ours still didn't work after putting the sensor back in the bracket and mounting the bracket. We ordered a new sensor and bracket and a new impeller because of a little broken black piece that had been broken off. And we replaced the two grommets at the top also because the little black plastic knobbies had all broken off, even though it looked like it wouldn't matter. After replacing those parts, our washer worked again! We were so happy. We had two repairmen come and look at it and neither one knew how to fix it and the third guy wanted to charge us over $400, guessing it was the motor.  It wasn't the motor.

forgot to say we replaced the belt too. even though none of the parts appeared to be defective. the belt looked fine too. but with all the new stuff, it worked again.
