GE unitized washer/dryer transmission question
« on: September 11, 2018, 09:11:38 AM »

 :tickedoff:

Two years ago I had the main drum bearing assy replaced because of noise and leaking.  After that I always felt that the laundry wasnt getting clean, but whenever I opened the washer things were wet or spun so I figured I was just dirtier.  I think I know the problem, but not what to do about it.  the washer started stopping mid cycle and the code that set was blocked motor.  hmmm, I took the front panel off and watched it run a cycle and what I saw was the fork that disengages the transmission so it can operate the agitator moved up, but the transmission did not disengage.  the agitation was agitating the entire drum.  the fork moves up and down like it is supposed to , but it isnt touching the piece that it needs to move.  I looked as hard as I could with a mirror and could not see any pieces broken.  what does this sound like?

It's a bad transmission if the whole drum moves in agitate. Part number WH16X10146
