Portable Room AC Leaking Water

I have been running this unit for over two months without any condensation leaking from the bottom. It is designed to have condensation directed onto the bottom coils where it dissipates and is discharged into the chilled room air. I have cleaned both the upper and lower coil fins and the unit is sitting level. Any ideas why I am now experiencing water leaking out of the bottom of the unit?

My 12,000 BTU portable AC experienced this same problem.  Remove the outer casing and you will find a drain pan, under the coil, with a PLUGGED drain hole.  The drain hole allows condensed water to run over the hot condenser coil for evaporation and then blown out the exhaust port.  Mine has a reservoir on the bottom with a dipper to throw water back onto the hot coil.  There is also an auto shutoff if the reservoir is full.

Thanks for the reply lfuller1. Is your unit a Delonghi model like mine but higher BTU? I have had both casing halves in order to clean the upper and lower condensor fins and coils and am considering removing them again and letting the unit run so I can physically see the water back up and start to drip to the bottom.

I bought my 12,000 BTU AC at BJ's back in 2009.  The name on the front is "Commercial Cool" but I believe it is a Haier unit.

I ran water over the coils with the covers off and you could see that the drip pan UNDER the evaporator (cold) coil was overflowing and not draining.  It did require that I unbolt the evaporator coil and move it slightly out of the way to access the drain hole that was plugged with lint!

I've attached a couple of photos that I took with it apart. It is hard to see the drain hole in the 'rust colored' drip pan area that was plugged.  The one photo shows the coil moved out of the way to access the drain.

If your Ac is not working properly, then it is important to note the common problems with air conditioners which can be caused by inadequate maintenance. Then call the repairman from A+ Refrigeration Heating & Air Conditioning company who checks and detect the problem in your AC. They also repair it. My neighbor also took help from them to replace their AC.
